S6 Cluster InnoSTEAM AI Showcase 2026 @ Peicai Secondary School

On 26 August, Peicai Secondary School hosted the S6 Cluster InnoSTEAM AI Showcase 2026, bringing together students from Peicai Secondary School, Bartley Secondary School, St. Gabriel’s Secondary School and Zhonghua Secondary School for an afternoon of sharing, exploration and conversations about Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Centred on the question, “How can we harness AI to enhance learning without outsourcing our thinking?”, the showcase encouraged students to go beyond discovering what AI can do and consider when and how it should be used purposefully, responsibly and discerningly. Students were challenged to explore the possibilities of AI while questioning its outputs, recognising its limitations and considering what thinking and decisions should remain their own.

A highlight of the afternoon was the sharing by our 12 Secondary 1 and 2 Class Tech Champions, who presented six projects exploring different ways in which AI and technology could support their learning and CCA experiences. These ranged from student-developed solutions such as a CCA Progress Tracker and Homework Calendar, to explorations of AI-enabled tools and approaches for enhancing learning.

Through these student-led sharings, participants were invited not merely to admire what the technology could do, but to think critically about each application: Did AI genuinely enhance learning? What important thinking still needed to be done by the learner? What should we check or question before trusting an AI-generated response? Considerations such as accuracy, bias, sources, privacy and over-reliance formed part of these conversations.

Students also heard from our keynote speaker, Ms Khor Le Yi, Co-founder of Ottodot, who shared how AI is being used in her work, giving students a glimpse into its real-world applications, possibilities and limitations. Her sharing also prompted students to reflect on their own use of AI and, importantly, how human judgment, creativity and critical thinking remain essential even as AI becomes increasingly capable.

The afternoon concluded with a cross-school round-table discussion, where students exchanged perspectives with peers from the four schools. They discussed where AI could add value, what should remain human thinking, and even areas where they held different views — creating opportunities to listen to, question and learn from one another.

More than a showcase of AI projects, the S6 Cluster InnoSTEAM AI Showcase was an opportunity for students to grow as thoughtful and discerning users of technology. As AI continues to evolve, we hope our students will not only ask “What can AI do for me?”, but also “How can I use AI to deepen my learning while keeping the thinking, judgment and responsibility mine?”
