Human Values Drama Festival (HVDF)
Peicai Secondary School Drama Club also participated in the Human Values Drama Festival (HVDF), a meaningful platform that promotes the practice of the five universal Human Values, Truth, Right Conduct, Peace, Love, and Non-Violence, through drama and storytelling. The festival provided students with the opportunity to reflect on these important values while using performance as a medium to share meaningful messages and inspire others. Our Secondary 2 and Secondary 3 Drama Club members proudly represented the school in this event.
The objectives of the festival were to help students develop a deeper understanding of human values, strengthen their communication and performance skills, and learn how to work collaboratively as a team. Through the process of developing their performance, rehearsing together, and preparing for the presentation, students learnt to appreciate different perspectives and think critically about the themes portrayed in their story.
Throughout the preparation process, Drama Club members displayed dedication, perseverance, and strong teamwork. Students supported one another during rehearsals, encouraged their peers, and worked together to overcome challenges encountered along the way. The experience also helped them develop important E21 competencies such as communication and collaboration skills, critical and adaptive thinking, as well as civic and cross-cultural literacy.
Although the team did not progress beyond the preliminary rounds, the journey itself was still an enriching and valuable learning experience. One of the key highlights of the festival was watching students confidently portray meaningful values and messages through their performance. Students also grew in confidence, stage presence, self-expression, and their ability to work closely as an ensemble.
Through opportunities such as HVDF, Peicai Drama Club continues to nurture students into confident, empathetic, and resilient individuals. Beyond developing theatrical skills, the club provides students with a supportive environment where they can discover their potential, build lasting friendships, and develop values and life skills that will continue to guide them in the future.
