Department Programmes/Highlights
Secondary 1 Public Speaking Workshop
At Peicai Secondary School, we recognise that effective communication is a vital skill for success. To nurture this ability, our Secondary One students engage in a Public Speaking Workshop designed to introduce them to the fundamentals of effective public speaking. The programme develops students’ confidence in speaking clearly and expressively in front of an audience while guiding them to use voice and body language to project credibility.
Through hands-on practice, students draft and deliver speeches on given or chosen topics, applying verbal and non-verbal techniques to engage their audience. They gain a deep understanding of the elements of an effective speech and communicate their ideas with clarity, confidence, and conviction. By refining their enunciation, articulation, and vocal projection using tone, pitch, and pace effectively, students communicate with impact and deliver presentations that are both persuasive and memorable.

Be S.U.R.E with Generative AI: Exploring Digital Literacy and Critical Thinking through Interactive Learning
Our students participate in the Be S.U.R.E. with Generative AI talk by the National Library Board. Students examine AI-generated versus original content, critically analysing information in context and reflecting on purpose, audience, and credibility.
The session supports Peicai Secondary School’s goal of developing empathetic communicators, discerning readers, and creative inquirers. By combining interactivity with critical thinking, students strengthen their multiliteracies, deepen their understanding of diverse perspectives, and enhance their digital citizenship, equipping them to navigate an information-rich world thoughtfully and responsibly.
