International Science Drama Competition (ISDC)

The Peicai Secondary School Drama Club proudly participated in the International Science Drama Competition (ISDC), a unique platform that combines the worlds of Science and Drama. This competition challenged students to creatively present scientific concepts through theatrical performance, allowing them to apply both their imagination and critical thinking skills in meaningful ways. Our Secondary 1 Drama Club members represented the school in this enriching experience.

The objective of ISDC was not only to deepen students’ understanding of scientific ideas, but also to develop their confidence, communication skills, and ability to collaborate effectively as a team. Through the process of developing the script, rehearsing, and preparing for the performance, students learnt how to think critically and adapt creatively to challenges. They also strengthened important E21 competencies such as communication, collaboration, and adaptive thinking.

Throughout the preparation journey, students demonstrated resilience, commitment, and teamwork. Drama Club members spent many hours rehearsing together, supporting one another, and refining their performance as a team. Although the team did not advance beyond the preliminary rounds, the experience was still extremely meaningful and rewarding for all involved.

One of the highlights of the competition was seeing our students grow in confidence as they prepared and recorded their final performance video. Many students grew in self-confidence and learnt how to express themselves more effectively through drama. The competition also allowed students to experience how Drama can be used beyond entertainment, as a powerful tool for learning, creativity, and communication.

Peicai Drama Club remains committed to providing students with authentic learning opportunities that nurture confidence, creativity, resilience, and teamwork. Through platforms such as ISDC, students are able to grow holistically while discovering their strengths and developing valuable life skills that extend beyond the classroom.
