Two teams of Sec 3 D&T students participated for the first time in this year’s Mighty Mousetrap Car Challenge – Challenge on 2 July 2025 —a prestigious STEM competition hosted by SJI for the second consecutive year.
The engaging competition challenged students to design and prototype a model car powered exclusively by a mousetrap's spring force. Through collaborative teamwork, practical research, and innovative problem-solving, participants deepened their understanding of STEM principles whilst enjoying an enriching learning experience.
One of the two participating teams came in 1st in the secondary school category with the furthest distance of 41.04 m – A competition record!
