General Questions
Q1. The uniform supplier does not have the uniform size of my child. Can my child come to school in his primary school uniform?
A1. If the uniform supplier does not have your child’s required size, please submit a pre-order with the supplier. Alternatively, you may choose to have the uniform tailor-made externally if the supplier is unable to provide that size.
In the meantime, your child may attend school in Peicai Secondary School PE attire (if available). If not, he/she may continue to wear his/her primary school uniform or PE attire until the Peicai uniform is ready.
Mother Tongue
Q1. Why is Tamil Language not offered at Peicai Secondary?
A1. Similar to some other schools, due to the small size of the cohort, resources are maximised at designated TL centres.
Q2. Where do students go for Tamil Language lessons?
A2. Students who offered to study TL, will need to attend TL lessons at designated TL centres. For Peicai Secondary School, the designated TL centre by MOE is at Umar Pulavar Tamil Language Centre (UPTLC). Please refer to their website at https://www.uptlc.moe.edu.sg.
Q3. Does Peicai Secondary offer Higher Mother Tongue?
A3. Yes. Peicai Secondary offers Higher Chinese/Higher Malay at Secondary One. However, Higher Tamil students will attend lessons at Umar Pulavar Tamil Language Centre (UPTLC). Please refer to their website at https://www.uptlc.moe.edu.sg.
Q4. Are lessons for TL and HTL at the centres conducted during curriculum time?
A4. No. It is conducted outside curriculum time. Depending on the centre, timing and curriculum days will vary. While in school, your child/ward will have independent self-study during the MTL periods in the school library or other assigned venue.
Q5. What happens if lessons at the designated centres outside Peicai Secondary School clashes with CCA or remedial lessons in school?
A5. Activities/Lessons in school will take precedence. Special arrangements will be made where necessary. Students are to alert teachers in charge of any potential clashes.
Q6. What will be the arrangement for my child/ward if he/she is offering Non-Tamil Indian Languages (Hindi/Gujarati/Bengali/Panjabi/Urdu) or Asian/Foreign Languages?
A6. Your child will continue to attend the lessons at their respective centre or institutions. While in school, your child/ward will have independent self-study during the MTL periods in the school library or other assigned venue.
CCA – General
Q1. Is it compulsory for all students to have a CCA?
A1. Yes, it is compulsory for all secondary school students to have at least one CCA in school.
Q2. If my child has an external CCA, is he/she allowed to be excused from CCA in school?
A2. No, it is compulsory for ALL students to have at least one CCA in school. However, students/parents may request to participate in inter-school competitions in the name of the school for the external CCA. For example, Peicai Secondary School does not offer Taekwondo. However, students/parents may request to represent Peicai and participate in the inter-school Taekwondo competition. Note that the joint-cluster schools CCA for Table Tennis (Boys) is considered as a CCA offered by Peicai Secondary School rather than an external CCA.
Q3. What are the CCAs offered in Peicai?

Q4. Which is the CCA day in Peicai?
A4. CCAs are scheduled to take place on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Different CCAs could be on different days and the frequency of CCA sessions could also differ from CCAs to CCAs.
There are no CCAs scheduled on Wednesdays and Fridays. However, sessions may be scheduled on Fridays during the peak competition periods where necessary.
Q5. How frequent are CCA sessions?
A5. There is no fixed frequency for CCA sessions. Depending on the nature of CCAs, the frequency varies from once to twice a week. It is important for students and parents to note the frequency before selecting the CCA preferences during the Sec 1 CCA Allocation window. Do note that during certain seasons, students may require more training sessions to prepare for the matches/performances, this will include National Schools Games, Singapore Youth Festival Art Presentation, key regional events within the Uniformed Groups, Clubs and Societies calendar, etc. Parents will be informed via PG by the respective CCA Teacher-In-Charge.
CCA Open House 2026
Q1. Will there be face-to-face sessions where students get to mingle with the current CCA students?
A1. Yes, there will be a CCA Open House during the Sec 1 Parent Engagement Session, on 17 January 2026 (Sat). Parents who are present can also check in with our CCA Teachers for more details about CCAs offered.
Q2. Is there a briefing on how CCAs can be selected?
A2. Yes, during the CCA Open House, parents and students will be briefed on the steps for CCA selection.
Q3. Will the new students get to watch performances by the Performing Arts (PA) Groups?
A3. Yes, students will visit the allocated venues of these CCAs during the CCA Open House and watch a short performance prepared by the PA-CCAs.
Q4. Is it compulsory for all students and parents to attend the CCA Open House?
A4. It is compulsory for all Sec 1 students. Parents are strongly encouraged to accompany their children to attend the CCA Open House.
Q5. Will there be a make-up of the CCA Open House if students/parents miss it?
A5. No, there will not be any make-up session. Sec 1 students can still approach CCA teachers during term time to enquire more, before the final submission deadline for CCA preferences on 23 January 2026 (Fri).
Sec 1 Orientation Week 2026
Q1. Is it compulsory for all Sec 1 students to attend the Sec 1 Orientation Week?
A1. Yes. Sec 1 Orientation Week is a milestone programme for all Sec 1 students who enter the school as it will be the first platform for them to get to know their classmates, school and teachers.
Q2. What is the purpose of the Sec 1 Orientation Week?
A2. Sec 1 Orientation is the first platform for Sec 1s to be more familiar with their classmates, teachers and the school. Students build closer bonds within the class and a stronger class and school identity. Through Sec 1 Orientation, students will be better assimilated into Peicai Secondary School and will have a greater sense of belonging and pride to the school. During the programme, students will also be introduced to new secondary level subjects, including Humanities, Design & Technology, and the Applied Learning Programme, and be equipped with coping strategies that support a smooth transition from primary to secondary school.
Q3. Can my child go off earlier during the Sec 1 Orientation Week?
A3. All Sec 1s are expected to be present throughout the duration of the programme. Please refer to the orientation programme for the dismissal time for each day during the orientation week. Kindly inform your child’s form teachers should there be a need to leave school earlier on a specific day for a valid reason.
