Eligibility for Higher Mother Tongue Language (HMTL)
Find out if your child qualifies for HMTL based on PSLE results, and how to accept the offer via Parents Gateway by 26 December 2025.
If your child/ward is eligible to take HMTL based on his/her PSLE results, you would receive an online form on Offer to Take HMTL via Parents Gateway (PG) or email for those not yet on-board PG by 22 December 2025 (Mon).
Parents can accept the offer by giving consent via PG or email by 12:00pm on 26 December 2025 (Fri).
If your child/ward is not eligible to take HMTL based on the PSLE results but meets the school-based eligibility criteria at the end of Sec 1 Semester One or the Sec 1 Year End Examinations, an offer would be made by the school for your child/ward to take HMTL.
