Rakan Bahasa Appointment Ceremony
Khalif Arka Waluya (2RE) and Nurul Amanda Binte Nashron (3PN) were officially appointed as Rakan Bahasa ambassadors on 6 April at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre. The ceremony was graced by Mr Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Social & Family Development, in recognition of the students’ exemplary passion and dedication.
The Rakan Bahasa programme recognises students who lead by example in promoting the Malay language and culture. As ambassadors, Khalif and Nurul serve as role models, inspiring their peers to embrace and appreciate the Malay language in daily life while honing their confidence and communication skills.
From April to September, the ambassadors will participate in engaging activities designed to spark interest in the language. Key highlights include Kad Kembara and the TeeVers Competition, which runs from 20 April to 8 May and showcases students’ talents in audio drama. They also attended a training session with Opera Academy, focusing on script interpretation, voice projection, and intonation through the art of bangsawan.
Congratulations to Khalif and Nurul! As our 2026 Rakan Bahasa ambassadors, we look forward to seeing them inspire their peers and champion the beauty and vibrancy of the Malay language and culture throughout the year.
