Peicai hosts Suanboonyopathum Lamphun School for a cultural immersion

On 6 February 2026, Peicai welcomed the Principal, teachers and students from Suanboonyopathum Lamphun School, Thailand, for a meaningful afternoon of cultural exchange and learning. The visit reflected the thoughtful planning and collaboration between both schools, as well as the initiative and enthusiasm shown by our OSEP Thailand 2025 team, who ensured that their Thai counterparts experienced the warmth, hospitality and vibrant spirit of Peicai.

An Afternoon of Connection, Learning, and Play

Upon arrival, our Thai guests were warmly welcomed by the OSEP Thailand 2025 team with a thoughtful welcome gift of local snacks and handmade letters. Each letter, carefully crafted by our students, expressed heartfelt greetings and excitement for the visit, setting a tone of genuine hospitality from the outset. The local snacks offered a taste of Singapore's culinary diversity, serving as both a gesture of friendship and a small introduction to the flavours that make our food culture unique. These personal touches reflected the care and effort our students invested in making their guests feel at home, embodying the spirit of graciousness and cultural pride that defines Peicai.

Over the course of three hours, our Thai guests were then immersed in various aspects of school life at Peicai. They observed lessons in our Math PinnaCle and Science PinnaCle programmes, gaining insight into how we nurture academic talent and foster critical thinking among our students. These observations provided a window into the rigour and creativity that define our approach to developing future-ready learners. It also stimulated conversations on both schools’ best academic practices, creating excitement for Peicai's upcoming visit to Lamphun in October 2026.

Beyond the classroom, students bonded through friendly sports exchanges in frisbee and captain's ball. Laughter and teamwork transcended language barriers as both sides played with and against each other. With such an electrifying atmosphere of cheers, both schools displayed the spirit of collaboration and adaptability central to Peicai's holistic development of our students.

Celebrating Culture Through Performances

A highlight of the visit was the performances by both schools. Suanboonyopathum kickstarted the exchange with a traditional Thai dance. Dressed in gold and adorned with flowers, the Thai students embodied Thailand's renowned passion for its traditional arts and culture.

Our OSEP Thailand 2025 team expressed their appreciation with a self-choreographed dance to a lively Thai-Korean pop medley, followed by a heartfelt rendition of a Thai song. The performances were met with enthusiastic applause and appreciation, serving as a bridge between cultures and a testament to the students' dedication and creativity.

For Peicaians, the chance to perform for their Thai guests was not only an expression of respect and hospitality but also an opportunity to deepen their own civic, global, and cross-cultural literacy.

Building Bridges, Looking Forward

Though the visit was short, it left a lasting impression on both students and teachers. The exchange reinforced key values such as empathy, open-mindedness, and adaptability qualities that are essential as our students navigate an increasingly interconnected and digitalised world. For our OSEP team, hosting their Thai counterparts was a valuable opportunity to develop communication, leadership, and cultural sensitivity, as they stepped up to guide, engage, and welcome our guests with confidence and care.

The collaboration between Peicai Secondary School and Suanboonyopathum Lamphun School is a reminder that meaningful connections can be forged even in the briefest encounters. Through exchanges like these, our students are not only learning about the world—they are learning to thrive in it, equipped with the skills, dispositions, and global perspectives that will serve them well in the years to come.

Peicai continues to look forward to future opportunities to deepen this partnership with Suanboonyopathum Lamphun School, and to continue building bridges of friendship across borders.
