Breakfast with Principal
Breakfast with Principal: Welcoming Our Secondary 1 Parents
On 28 February 2026, Peicai Secondary School hosted its annual Breakfast with Principal, bringing together Secondary 1 parents for a morning of meaningful dialogue, connection, and community building. The session provided a valuable opportunity for parents to engage with Principal, Mr Michael Muhunthan and learn more about the school’s Parent Support Group (PSG), strengthening the important partnership between home and school.
The morning began with an engaging warm-up activity facilitated by the PSG EXCO, where parents responded to lighthearted yet thought-provoking statements about parenting and raising teenagers. The activity sparked lively conversations and laughter as parents discovered shared experiences and perspectives.

Mr Michael then opened the floor for parents to share their insights, questions, and observations. The candid exchange provided an opportunity for the school leadership to hear directly from families, fostering deeper mutual understanding and trust. Parents raised thoughtful questions about their children’s transition to secondary school, and the discussion highlighted the importance of open communication and strong collaboration between home and school in supporting students’ growth.

A highlight of the event was the sharing by members of the PSG EXCO, who spoke openly about their personal experiences and the meaningful impact of their involvement in the school community. PSG EXCO members, Ms Irmah Ayub, Ms Valerie Cheng, Mr Sam Ho, Ms Gina Chow, and Ms Rubaa Letchumanan shared how their participation in the PSG had strengthened their connection with the school while also enriching their relationships with their children. Their authentic reflections resonated with many parents, illustrating that parent engagement goes beyond volunteerism. It is about walking alongside their children throughout their formative secondary school years.

The session concluded with an invitation for parents to join the Parent Support Group (PSG), emphasising that every contribution, big or small, plays a meaningful role in creating a supportive and vibrant school community. For many Secondary 1 parents, the breakfast served as both a warm welcome into the Peicai family and an encouragement to take an active role in partnering the school to support their child’s growth and success.
