A concise summary of the main points regarding this article.
Peicai Secondary School marked its third Purple Parade commemoration on 12 October 2026, celebrating different abilities and strengthening our commitment to an inclusive school community.
Guided by the theme “See the Person. Understand the Need. Choose Inclusion”, our Secondary 1 to 3 students took part in an interactive hall engagement. Quizzes and everyday scenarios encouraged them to challenge misconceptions about disabilities and consider how they could respond when a peer communicates, learns, moves or behaves differently. A key message was to look beyond behaviour, recognising that what we notice may reflect a need we do not yet understand.
The learning continued at activity booths during recess and after school, where students explored visual perception and other hands-on challenges. These activities sparked conversations about the barriers others may face and the support that can make participation easier. Staff also wore purple in a show of solidarity.
Through inclusion pledges and reflection, students were encouraged to turn awareness into everyday action—from inviting a peer into a group to giving someone time to respond. Together, we can help every Peicai student feel a sense of belonging.
Different strengths. Different needs. One Peicai. Everyone belongs.
