18 September 2026
The ceremony recognised students who represented the school in the Singapore Math Kangaroo Contest (SMKC), NIE Mathematics Challenge (NIEMC) and Singapore Mathematical Olympiad (SMO).
Peicai Secondary School celebrated the mathematical achievements of our students at the Math Competitions Awards Ceremony. The ceremony recognised students who represented the school in the Singapore Math Kangaroo Contest (SMKC), NIE Mathematics Challenge (NIEMC) and Singapore Mathematical Olympiad (SMO). Through these competitions, students had opportunities to engage in mathematical enrichment, encounter challenging problems and apply their learning beyond regular classroom tasks.
The SMKC aims to popularise mathematical enrichment activities and expose students to interesting mathematics problems designed by internationally renowned mathematics educators. Our students attained two Silver awards, four Bronze awards and one Honourable Mention in the competition.
The NIEMC is a 90-minute national online mathematics quiz closely aligned to the MOE mathematics syllabuses for secondary schools, and participants receive personalised feedback on their performance. Across the Secondary 1 to Secondary 3 categories, Peicai students achieved 11 Certificates of Credit, six Certificates of Distinction and one Certificate of High Distinction.
Our students also achieved commendable results in the Singapore Mathematical Olympiad. Ada Wong Kar Lork (2CY) and Chiang Shutong (2CN) received Honourable Mentions, while Yi Yuxuan (3EE) and Hiok Zhi Hao Isaiah (2CE) received Bronze awards.
The awards ceremony celebrated these achievements and highlighted the range of mathematical challenge opportunities available to our students. We congratulate all award recipients and look forward to more mathematics challenges and competitions in Semester 2.
